Warrior Art
One Mind / One Universe
I started watercolor painting as a result of encouragements from my sister, who is a well established artist in California.  My older brother's Native American art works were also an inspiration.  I was also retiring and looked to develop new skills and hobbies.

Another factor was the continual development of the "intellectual or soft skills", common throughout the martial arts world.  People training as elite warriors have to balance their "hard fighting skills" with their "soft intellectual skills."  Many young people who start martial arts training, also need to study just as hard in school and throughout life.  Development to artistic skills is an excellent way to demonstrate a warrior's "soft skills."

This page represents an example of some of my "soft skills" with several art works demonstrating various watercolor techniques.

Sometimes I have spent 3 months working on a painting, and sometimes as little as 10 seconds.  Both efforts have resulted in art works that have won awards and acceptance in several National Exhibitions, including Albuquerque, NM, and Irving, TX.  Some of my art works have also been on display many times at the Tubac Center of the Arts, in Tubac, Arizona.  I have also won awards from the Arizona Watercolor Association, and I am a juried member of the organization.  In addition, I have won awards from the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies.

There are two sections.  One emphasizing my watercolor art works, and another representing relaxation art works.

Watercolor paintings using a new technique I have been developing for several years, are shown in both sections.  These paintings have been very helpful to many people, for relaxing.  Relaxation art works can be used at work, home, or anywhere people are experiencing stress and tension.  The paintings will be for sale.

I have made watercolor art presentations to the Arizona Watercolor Association, the Scottsdale Artist League, and other Artist organizations in the Phoenix metro area.  Therefore, I am available to do presentations to Groups.  My presentation fees are normally $100, but I am open to negotiations when Organization's set fees are involved.

I am also available to present one day watercolor workshops to groups of people who wish to explore and create their own relaxation art works.  In the Phoenix, metro area, these one day workshops cost $100 per person, with a maximum of three when done at my studio.  When done at an organization's location more people can attend, per class.  The classes normally run from 9am to 3pm.  People normally bring their own lunch.  Tai Chi and Qigong exercises are also practiced and presented during the workshops, giving students a unique relaxing art experience.  Workshops involving travel outside the Phoenix metro area, will include travel expenses.

I have juried art exhibitions in Arizona, and my fees are quoted on an individual basis.

My private art studio is in my home and is open by invitation only.

I hope you enjoy the samples of my art works.
